WELCOME |
Remember when people said, "I don't think there's anything on that Internet to interest me?" They're probably going to say that about Second Life. And they're probably going to look back and laugh at that, too.
|
RATIONALE |
- 21st Century education must address not only the needs, but also knowledge, skills, and attitudes which 21st century learners of all ages already bring to their educational experiences.
- Multi-user virtual environments (MUVE's) offer a rich opportunity for the development of new educational landscapes and experiences which address these needs, abilities and attitudes.
- Providing collaborative, believable, situated learning experiences is likely to enhance learning experiences in many ways, not least of which is to provide a level of learner engagement and immersion often lacking in today's classrooms.
- This Web site is intended to provide a brief overview of the MUVE Second Life (SL) as well as tools and resources for educators wishing to use SL for education purposes.
